Asma ul Husna- #81 As Salaam, #82 Al Quddus, #83 At Tayyib
As- Salaam
The Impeccable One, The Flawless, The Source of Peace and Security
- Allah is As-Salaam, The Pure, The Flawless, The Impeccable. He's free and far from any defects or evil. He's the perfection of purity.
- There's absolutely no peace or safety but it's from Him for He is the Creator, who designs and controls all things.
- If you are afraid, remember Him, and He fills your heart with peace. If you get connected with Him, He purifies you from all defects and faults; He purifies your soul, because He is “As-Salam” and Purity comes from Him.
- Of the meanings of God’s name “As-Salam” is that remembering Him leads to feelings of security, tranquility and safety. To this effect, God’s Words go: {Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.} (Ar-Ra’d 13: 28)
- Dua connected to this name of Allah : Allahumma antas-salam waminkas-salam, tabarakta ya thal-jalali wal-ikram.
‘O Allah, You are As-Salam and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honor.’
Al- Quddus
- The One who is Free from and above any evil, any deficiency and any fault. In other words, He is High Above what does not befit Him (like spouse or children). He is THE Pure One. He doesn’t have any deficiency or fault.
- Ibn Katheer states: Al Quddus means the One free from any deficiencies. He also says Al Quddoos refers to the One who is attributed with the attributes of Perfection, for example: the attribute of Knowledge and of Creation.
- Al Bayhaqi states: Al Quddus is the One who is Taahir (Pure), and Uluww (High). The One who is Pure from having any children or partners.
- He is free from the fault of shirk, or having any shareek.
- He is Free from having any spouse or child.
- He is Free from death.
- He is Free from committing dhulm (injustice)
- He is free from lying (ya'ani, whatever promises He's made in the Quran, may it be punishments or rewards, He's one who keeps His promises)
- He is Free from error or forgetfulness.
- He is Free from poverty and stinginess.
- He is Free from having a shabeeh (one who is similar to Him)
At- Tayyib
The Pure One
- Allah is At-Tayyib, The One far removed from every imperfection and deficiency. And who's pure in every way and in all His attributes.
- Allah is Pure and loves that which is pure – Make sure all your actions are pure and clean and free from any impurity or deviation.
- Remember to not disobey Allah in your earnings. Your everyday dealings and actions have a direct result on your ibadah.
On the authority of Abu Huraira who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Verily Allah, the Exalted, is pure and accepts only that which is pure. Allah has commanded the believers to do that which He has commanded the Messengers. The Exalted has said, ‘O Messengers! Eat of the good things and do right.’ And the Exalted also said, ‘O believers! Eat of the good things that we have provided for you.'” Then he [the Prophet peace be upon him] mentioned a man who after a long journey is disheveled and dust coloured. “[The man] stretches his hands out toward the sky and says, ‘O Lord, O Lord,’ while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing unlawful and his nourishment is unlawful. How is he to be answered [in such a state]?” (Recorded in Sahih Muslim)
